4th Friday Forum

Fourth Friday each Month at 6:30pm
with Shiho Gareth Young and Hogyo Richard Skoonberg

Covered Dish Buffet Dinner!

Please come and join us in our ongoing monthly series, the Fourth Friday Forums. These events, held in the evening on the fourth Friday of each month, are designed to bring sangha members, friends and family together in an informal setting for discussions of Zen practice in daily life. Each forum begins with a community dinner from 6:30 to 7:30 pm that features lively dialogue on the evening’s topic. An hour of sitting meditation (zazen) is offered from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, followed by a short wrap-up discussion from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.

While our program at ASZC is focused on the central issues of Zen practice and training, we do not always have the time or the appropriate forum for bringing up dimensions of everyday life and their compatibility with Zen. Fourth Friday Forum is intended to offer just such an opportunity to investigate the relationships of Zen to everyday life in a relaxed setting.

Future forums on the 4th Friday of each month will be announced ahead of time as to topic. Some topics may carry over to more than one Friday forum if needed. Please send any suggestions for topics of interest to fourthfridayforum@aszc.org. Look for announcements each month as to the particular topic for that 4th Friday.
