Zen Mind Beginners Mind Cover

Beginning Tuesday February 5, 2008, we will spend approximately four months studying Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind.

This is one of the classics and a staple of most Zen libraries, a collection of short talks by one of the founders of Zen in America, originally published in 1970 and still a poerennial favorite.

Reading Group Format

The reading group is informal and readings serve as a point of departure for discussions. Sometimes we follow the text closely, other times discussion is wide-ranging. It is best to read the assigned chapter before attending but not required - if you email the facilitator, he will let you know the current chapter. But please feel free to drop in for the discussion even if you haven't read the text. With the current book we generally take turns reading selections out loud. Tea and snacks are served. Since this is such a widely owned book we are not following our general practice of having copies of the text will be available by the door to the zendo, but if you do not own the book, you can share with others who have copies.

Schedule

The schedule is informalplease contact the facilitator if you want to know where the group is at any given point in time.
