Book Club Guidelines and Reading Schedule
Arrive on time. Entering late can be distracting to the group’s flow of practice and discussion.
Keep your microphone muted unless you are speaking. Raise your hand if you have something to share and begin when called upon.
Wait in silence after each person speaks. Just as in the zendo, we pause to let words settle before anyone responds.
Speak from your own experience. Share what arises personally for you in the reading, rather than abstract or purely intellectual analysis.
Keep comments brief if unprepared. If you have not read, or only skimmed through the material, please just offer short, focused reflections.
Be mindful of movement. If you must walk around or change locations, turn off your camera until you are settled again.
Practice respect and patience. Refrain from speaking out of turn, and hold a calm, attentive presence when addressing the group.
