Book Club Guidelines and Reading Schedule

  • Arrive on time. Entering late can be distracting to the group’s flow of practice and discussion.

  • Keep your microphone muted unless you are speaking. Raise your hand if you have something to share and begin when called upon.

  • Wait in silence after each person speaks. Just as in the zendo, we pause to let words settle before anyone responds.

  • Speak from your own experience. Share what arises personally for you in the reading, rather than abstract or purely intellectual analysis.

  • Keep comments brief if unprepared. If you have not read, or only skimmed through the material, please just offer short, focused reflections.

  • Be mindful of movement. If you must walk around or change locations, turn off your camera until you are settled again.

  • Practice respect and patience. Refrain from speaking out of turn, and hold a calm, attentive presence when addressing the group.
